Orangetheory Fitness, a global fitness brand, is encouraging its members to invite a friend to class on Saturday, July 30, in honor of International Friendship Day.
Orangetheory is a very popular group fitness brand with locations across the country. With a membership to this gym, your workouts are 60 minutes and coach-led.
A heart rate monitor that connects to the equipment via Bluetooth tracks your heart rate in different zones. For example, the blue zone might be your heart rate after five jumping jacks, whereas the red zone might be after 50. Spending a certain amount of time in the orange zone will help you to burn calories up to 24 hours after your class.
This Saturday, the brand is celebrating International Friendship Day by inviting members to offer their friends a free class. This class is team-focused, meaning your exercises might include your workout buddy.
Every class is split up into different stations. Some start on the treadmill, some start on rowing machines, and some will start on the weight floor. After you spend time at one station, the class rotates so everyone gets time at each station.
If you can’t make it to this event, but still want to try it out, select studios offer a complimentary first class so you can get a feel for it.
Metro Detroit has several locations: Royal Oak, Birmingham, Dearborn, Grosse Pointe, and New Center.
