Sheriff Street business Fitness Express has thrown its support behind this weekend’s Intermediate Bodybuilding Championship, set for the Berbice High School.
Managing Director Jamie McDonald recently presented his sponsorship package to Videsh Sookram of the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, the organising body for the event on Saturday.
Sookram said the Federation is pleased to receive backing from Fitness Express, especially as this event marks a return of the Intermediate competition after a hiatus of approximately two decades.
Fitness buffs will compete in the Mr. Berbice, Mr. Physique, Miss Bikini, Miss Best Legs and Novice categories.
Sookram explained that while the Mr. Berbice is for bodybuilders from the county only, the other categories are open to athletes countrywide.
Tickets for the event, set to start at 18:00h, are being pre-sold at G$1,000 each. A ticket at the door is G$1500.
Importantly, weigh-in is set for 13:00h to 14:30h on Saturday.
